Strength is the foundation of everything we do - it is the basic physical adaptation we can gain as humans. Strong people have more energy, endurance, coordination, balance and mental equilibrium. Strength is the foundation of physical and mental health.
At plonk barbell you don't just do a random string of exercises. We train exclusively with scientifically based and long-term proven concepts.
We use the barbell as central training tool. Squat, overhead press, deadlift and bench press cover most basic movement patterns in everyday life and will be the four cornerstones of your program from the first session. The barbell is the only training tool to systematically and functionally load your body and also progressively increase this load. This will trigger systemic adaptations such as increased muscle mass, joint health, metabolic performance and improve the different application of strength in everyday life as endurance, technical skills or for example in sports.
SIMPLE - FUNCTIONAL - SPECIFIC
Training is always based on the principles of functionality and specificity. Functionality means that it is not relevant how a particular muscle belly contracts or looks in the optimal light, but how the body as a whole organism interacts with and moves in its environment. Specificity means not using superfluous exercises that make you sweat in the short term but don't allow you to adapt in the long term. This shows in training: training means a logical, regulated, long-term planned and progressive process. Everything we do is simple and efficient. These principles are derived from the experience that all people - young or old, with or without experience - benefit from this type of training.
The training sessions are adapted to individual needs, goals and life circumstances during the initial consultation. For me it is important to offer all motivated people an environment in which they can train long-term. Therefore, there are individual pricing option.
About me
I started playing sports myself at an early age and through various experiences in soccer, triathlon, ultra running, swimming, and long distance hiking, I still stuck with basic strength training. Not only have I myself improved my performance in certain sports, but I've also found a way to deal with chronic pain. From my own training experience - and the experience of the people I've trained with - I've come to believe that no other workout is as applicable to everyday life in so many ways, fostering a satisfaction with oneself while improving one's body image both physically and psychologically into the positive. I want to share this passion with as many people as possible.
